Here are a couple of scenarios you can use (or have already).

USB cable only from controller/mixer

If your Controller or mixer has a dedicated built in soundcard and you use a usb cable to connect it to the computer, to connect to dj software then this is all you need.

(It is not advised to buy an iRig if you do not have one, a USB Soundcard is a much better product for connection to a computer)

Above picture is if your computer has a USB-A port.

If your device only has a USB-C port, you will need a USB-C dongle or C to U adapter.

To see if your device has a built in soundcard, connect it to your computer via usb and see if the device is shown in the input device list.

Windows sound settings:
1. open start menu and type – “control panel”.
2. change the icons to small or large.
3. click on “Sound”.
4. select the “Recording” tab.

in this picture the “Traktor Audio 6” is the USB soundcard

MAC sound settings:
1. Click the Apple logo.
2. Click on System preferences.
3. Click on “Sound” icon.
4. Click on the :input” tab.

In this picture my external soundcard is shown as “External soundcard”.

USB Soundcards (with RCA input)

If you have or need to get a USB soundcard , make sure it has an RCA input (as headphone jack inputs are designed for microphones and guitars, not line-in devices).

NOTE: If your Mixer or Controller has only 1 RCA output (master) and you use that output to connect to your speakers then you will need to get a USB soundcard with RCA output (as well as input) like in the picture, then you can connect to your speakers as well.

To see if your device is connected, follow the steps for your computer in the USB cable only guide above.

iRig

If you have an iRig already then connect as follows.

NOTE: If your Mixer or Controller has only 1 RCA output (master) and you use that output to connect to your speakers then you will need to get a USB soundcard with RCA output (as well as input) like in the picture, then you can connect to your speakers as well.
